TY - JOUR A1 - Reich, Mike T1 - The oldest synallactid sea cucumber (Echinodermata: Holothuroidea: Aspidochirotida) Y1 - 2010 VL - 84 IS - 4 SP - 541 EP - 546 JF - Paläontologische Zeitschrift DO - 10.1007/s12542-010-0067-8 DO - 10.23689/fidgeo-2797 PB - Springer-Verlag N2 - Aspidochirote holothurian ossicles were discovered in Upper Ordovician-aged Öjlemyr cherts from Gotland, Sweden. The well-preserved material allows definitive assignment to the family Synallactidae, a deep-sea sea cucumber group that is distributed worldwide today. The new taxon Tribrachiodemas ordovicicus gen. et sp. nov. is described, representing the oldest member of the Aspidochirotida. The further fossil record of Synallactidae and evolutionary implications are also discussed. UR - http://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gldocs-11858/7110 ER -
