This study is part of a comparative investigation of the fauna in former industrial peatcut areas in Lower Saxony (Weser-Ems-area). Leptophlebia vespertina was the only Ephemeropteran species colonising these habitats. This study compared the colonisation densities of three areas where regeneration was started between 1980 and 1996. Densities of L. vespertina increased with time of regeneration, a fact which seems to correlate with the vegetation development. According to these data L. vespertina appeared to be quite tolerant - developing even at low pH-values (< pH 3.5). However, this species seems to be quite sensitive to high temperatures, because the development is interrupted by dormancy during the summer months.}, note = { \url {http://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gldocs-11858/7193}}, }
