abstract = {Abstract: The results of the recording of fens of the Müritz National Park (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) are presented. From 2003 to 2005 435 fens, covering an area of 3.708,9 ha (11,5 % of the area of the National Park), have been investigated. Thickness of mire deposits, hydrological and ecological mire types, the ecological evaluation and recording of flora and vegetation of fens are shown. The reasons for bad ecological status of many fens are discussed and measures of rewetting are performed. Until now measurements of watershed restoration were realized at 127 bogs and fens (1.900 ha) and also at 31 lakes with a total area of 1.430 ha.},
