It has a size of 55 hectare and is divided in a large fen and in small raised bogs. After deep drainage, today woods of Alder and Ash as well as reed swamps of eutrophic sites grow in the fen. Swampy forests and rests of moss bogs are now typical for transitional bogs. Tyrphophilous plants and animals are rare. Therefore analyses to the surface slope and features, stratigraphy, hydrology, selected communities of flora and fauna and the bog classification were started. These lead to an integrated developing concept for the restoration of the fen. The aim of the concept is the recovery of a nearly natural groundwater level and the establishment of a habitat patch connectivity to bring back the tyrphophilous species to the Tessiner Moor. It is planned to create a nature trail for tourists in the restored fen.}, note = { \url {http://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gldocs-11858/7373}}, }
