%X Abstract: Within the Masurian Lakeland 7.346 fens with 7,1 % of the area has been mapped. Over 85 % of the mires were formed by silting up of lakes by organic matter and 15 % on swampland. Peat has been grown up on organic and calcareous gyttja.
