%X Abstract: The results of the recording of fens of the Nature Reserve Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) are presented. From 1999 to 2001 347 fens, covering an area of 3.548,1 ha, have been investigated. Thickness of mire sediments, hydrological and ecological mire types, flora and vegetation and the ecological evaluation of fens are shown. The reasons for bad ecological status of many fens are discussed and measures of rewetting are performed.
