Überblick über die Fauna des saarpfälzischen Rotliegenden (Unter-Perm)

Die Fauna der Rotliegend-Serien des Saar-Nahe-Gebietes wird in knapper Form mit den wesentlichsten Merkmalen beschrieben. Wegen des Fehlens moderner Bearbeitungen werden einige Gruppen (Bivalven, Insekten) nicht im einzelnen abgehandelt. Verschiedene für das Saar-Nahe-Gebiet neue Formen werden provisorisch beschrieben und bestimmt. Es sind dies: der Ostracod Carbonita sp. H; die Conchostraken Cyzicus (Lioestheria)? sp. W und Cyzicus (Euestheria) sp. P; ein erster Arachnidenrest; der Haifisch Xenacanthus sp. B und ein Elonichthyide; das Reptil Batropetes sp.; die Lebensspuren Planolites? sp., Walpia? sp., Pelecypodichnus sp., Guilielmites sp., Laevicyclus? sp. und verschiedene Arthropodenfährten (Oniscoidichnus sp., Typ N 1 und N 2, Typen LH und LT).

Abstract: The fauna of the Rotliegendes of the Saar-Nahe area is described in its essential characteristics. Some groups (bivalvs, insects) are not treated in detail because here up-to-date treatments are lacking. Various species formerly unknown from the Saar-Nahe-area are described briefly and are determined provisionaly. These are: the ostracod Carbonita sp. H; the conchostracans Cyzicus (Lioestheria)? sp. W and Cyzicus (Euestheria) sp. P; a first fragment of an arachnid; the shark Xenacanthus sp. B and an elonichthyid palaeoniscid; the reptile Batropetes sp., the trace fossils Planolites? sp., Walpia? sp., Pelecypodichnus sp., Guilielmites sp., Laevicyclus? sp. and various arthropod tracks (Oniscoidichnus sp., type N 1 and N 2, types LH and LT).
