Gemeinsam für Matsch und Moor – Das Netzwerk Moorpädagogik

Bekanntlich geht gemeinsam „Moor“. Als Lösungsbeitrag zu den globalen Herausforderungen wie Klima- und Biodiversitätskrise arbeiten die Sektion „Landeskunde und Umweltbildung“ der DGMT e.V. und das Emsland Moormuseum daher als koordinierende Stelle mit und für ein aktives Netzwerk Moorpädagogik; ganz im Sinne des Nachhaltigkeitsziels/Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17 der Vereinten Nationen „Partnerschaften zur Erreichung der Nachhaltigkeitsziele“. Das Netzwerk Moorpädagogik knüpft Kontakte zwischen Moor-Wissenschaft und der Gesellschaft. Mit dem gemeinsamen Ziel, das Bewusstsein für den Schutz von Mooren in der Gesellschaft zu fördern, leisten alle im Netzwerk Aktiven einen Beitrag zu einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung von Moorlandschaften. Ein Praxisbeispiel für die Moorpädagogik ist der neue Forscherwagen für Moorentdeckende am Emsland Moormuseum. Er ist für Moor-Forschungsprojekte und Exkursionen ausgerüstet und ermöglicht ein erfahrungsbasiertes Moorerlebnis. Das Ökosystem Moor kann selbst erforscht werden. Diese Selbstwirksamkeitserfahrungen fördern das Umweltbewusstsein der Lernenden, die Artenkenntnis im Moor und lassen Verknüpfungen zwischen menschlichem Handeln, Vielfalt und Klima erkennen.

As is well known, we “achieve moor together”. The “Regional Studies and Environmental Education” section of the DGMT e.V. and the Emsland Moormuseum work as a coordinating body with and for an active network of peatland educators. The goal of this body is to contribute to solving global challenges, such as the climate and biodiversity crisis, while integrating concepts from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17 “Partnerships to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals”. The Peatlands Education Network establishes contacts between peatlands science and society. With the common goal of promoting awareness of the protection of mires in society, everyone active in the network contributes to the sustainable development of peatlands. A practical example of peatland education is the new research vehicle for peatland explorers at the Emsland Moormuseum. It is equipped for moor research projects and excursions and enables an experience-based moor adventure. You can explore the peatland and mire ecosystems yourself. These do-it-yourself experiences promote the learners‘ environmental awareness, knowledge of species in the peatland and reveal connections between human actions, diversity and climate.
