Die Pechelbronn-Gruppe in Bad Kreuznach (Eozän-Oligozän; Mainzer Becken, Südwest-Deutschland)

Ablagerungen der Pechelbronn-Gruppe in Bad Kreuznach werden anhand historischer und neuer Aufschlüsse und von Baugrundbohrungen beschrieben. Eine Profilkorrelation ermöglicht die Erstellung eines Lithofaziesschemas, das fazielle Übergänge vor allem der tonig-mergelig ausgebildeten Mittleren Pechelbronn-Gruppe in eine sandige Randfazies zeigt. Die Abfolge geht nach Westen in die Flussablagerungen der Hochstetten-Formation über.

Abstract: Sediments of the Pechelbronn Group of Bad Kreuznach have been investigated. The lithological description is based on historical and new outcrops and building ground drillings. A correlation of profiles leads to a lithofacies scheme. It demonstrates facies transitions especially of the argillaceous developed Middle Pechelbronn Group to a sandy marginal facies. The whole sequence changes to the West into the fluvial deposits of the Hochstetten Formation.
