Erster Nachweis einer Turritellide in der Alzey-Formation des Mainzer Beckens

Der erste Nachweis einer Gastropode der Familie Turritellidae aus der Alzey-Formation (Rupelium) einer Fundstelle bei Offenheim im Kreis Alzey wird beschrieben. Die Art wird vorläufig als Haustator cf. asperulus (Brongniart 1823) bestimmt, einer aus dem Rupelium des Pariser Beckens und Norditaliens bekannten Art. Zu oligozänen Arten des Nordseebeckens bestehen keinerlei Beziehungen. Nomenklatur und Systematik von Turritella planispira Nyst 1845 aus dem Latdorfium werden diskutiert, einer bisher mit H. asperulus verwechselten Art. Das Vorkommen von H. cf. asperulus lässt eine paläogeographische Verbindung zum Pariser Becken vermuten.

The first record of a gastropod of the family Turritellidae in the Rupelian Alzey formation of the Mainz Basin is described. The species is provisionally identified as Haustator cf. asperulus (Brongniart 1823), a species mentioned from the Rupelian of the Paris Basin. There are no relationships to Oligocene species of the North Sea Basin. Nomenclature and systematics of Turritella planispira Nyst 1845 from the Latdorfian with which is was confused, are discussed. The occurrence of H. cf. asperulus suggests a possible paleogeographic connection with the Paris Basin.
