N2  - Abstract: In July 2002 the state of Schleswig-Holstein implemented a programme for the rewetting of minerotrophic peatlands. The peatland programme was prepared by a working group established at the Federal State Agency for the Environment since 1995. The preliminary programme was discussed several times with representatives from nature conservation agencies, farmer organisations and the county administration. The goal of the programme is the restoration of the regulation function of minerotrophic peatlands for a reduction of non-point nutrient input into aquatic ecosystems. At the same time it is the aim to improve the site conditions for species adapted to wet habitats. In the frame of the programme one third of the minerotrophic peatland soils will be rewetted during the next years.
N2  - Zusammenfassung: Im Juli 2002 hat das Kabinett des Landes Schleswig-Holstein ein Programm zur Wiedervernässung von Niedermoorböden verabschiedet. Das Niedermoorprogramm wurde seit 1995 am Landesamt für Natur und Umwelt des Landes Schleswig-Holstein erarbeitet und mehrmals mit Vertretern aus Naturschutz, Bauernverbänden und Kreisen diskutiert. Ziel ist es, durch Vernässung von Niedermooren deren stoffliche Senkenwirkung in der Landschaft wieder herzustellen, um so die diffusen Stoffeinträge in die oberirdischen Gewässer und die Küstengewässer zu verringern und die Standortbedingungen für an nasse Lebensräume gebundene Arten zu verbessern. Im Rahmen des Niedermoorprogramms soll in den nächsten Jahren knapp ein Drittel der Niedermoorbodenfläche (32.000 ha) wieder vernässt werden.
