N2  - Die Verwendung von Hochmoortorf zur Herstellung von Aktivkohle ist weitgehend unbekannt, obwohl schon seit vielen Jahren mehr als 20% der deutschen Torfproduktion in diesen Bereich gehen. Der früher als Brenntorf genutzte stark zersetzte Hochmoortorf wird heute als Industrietorf weiterveredelt. Dieser Industrietorf ist das Ausgangsmaterial für die Herstellung von Torfkoks und Torfaktivkohle. Mit dem ständig wachsenden Umweltbewußtsein ist auch der Bedarf an Aktivkohle gestiegen.
N2  - The use of raised bog peat for the production of activated carbon is widely unknown, although for many years more than 20% of the German peat production are used in this field. In the past highly decomposed raised bog peat was utilized as fuel peat. Today, the same raw material is won as industrial peat and processed to peat coke and activated peat carbon. With the growing awareness for environmental problems, the demand for activated carbon increases also.
